I put a lot of work into today’s post. It’s the most comprehensive bag selection guide I have written. It uses all my nearly useless bag knowledge. Enjoy.

Massdrop is selling the Gent Select again. Probably the best knife $120 can buy you. Hell it’s one of the best pocket knives out there regardless of price.

Need a new watch? This Seiko is currently $79. Put it on a brown leather strap, and it’ll look sharp. Hell of a deal for an automatic watch.

A clarify buttons sounds like a better idea to me than an edit button, but y’all go ahead and keep debating something that will likely never happen.

I have an odd issue with internet connectivity and my (2018) iPad Pro. Here’s what happens: Plug in Apple’s USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter, and plug in a USB mechanical keyboard (tested with three different ones, same behavior). Work. At some point while connected to WiFi still, the internet stops working. The only fix is […]

Great post about toxic work places. https://www.inc.com/marcel-schwantes/how-toxic-is-your-workplace-right-now-pretty-toxic-if-you-see-these-6-things-often.html

Made some type changes on brooksreview.net to remove the Typography.com type account from it. That should free the site from the last bit of third party tracking, as far as I know. Still adjusting the design for the new typefaces.

I have a couple iPad Pros to sell. I’ll be making a full post later this week but if you want to snag one before then here you go: 10.5” 256gb WiFi with Smart Keyboard Cover $360 shipped. No box. 9.7” 128GB Cellular with Smart Keyboard Cover $250 shipped. Have box.

Is there a difference between those who endeavor to increase user “engagement” on social networks or digital devices, and those who work(ed) to make cigarettes more addictive?

When your numerical rating doesn’t line up with the first sentence of your conclusion. This is why numerical ratings are pointless and misleading.

On May 12th, 2011 I wrote about why Microsoft needed to fire Ballmer. It’s still the most read post on my site. Also weird that MS is now so valuable. That I think is because they have a kickstand on their tablet.

Glad to see Gemmell and Viticci realize iPad + mechanical keyboards are the way to go. They have some catching up to do, I mean are they even using custom braided cables yet‽

@manton any idea why my posts are showing up at a way different time than when they should be (earlier than they should be)

Had Taco Bell’s rolled chicken tacos (aka Taquitos) tonight. Of course with nacho cheese. The cheese was good the tacos were a little bland. Meh.

Found a few older gift guides I wrote too: 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016. Do I only write these on even years? Also this post might be helpful.

It’s 2018 almost 2019. If you’re writing about tech and you even think about being annoyed by a lack of a headphone jack. You should reconsider writing about tech.

Today’s your last chance until probably July to get killer deals on GORUCK gear. Hands down, the GR1 is the best bag money can buy.

In some personal news, yesterday I was replaced as CEO of Martian Craft and let go. I’ll keep you all posted on what’s next, when I figure that out. 😂

As if we didn’t already have enough to worry about. Now there’s giant terminate mounds visible from space .

Micro.blog’s integrations with new services is breaking it for me. And shows the vulnerability of not having platform wide unique usernames. I’m getting replies unlinked to anything I said and which frankly I don’t think are directed at me. Dumb. Frustrating.

Oh, one more thing, I don’t get people making the argument that they bought this year to last them for a while when their track record has been upgrading yearly. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I don’t own a Mac, only use iPad Pros. Barely use my iPhone. I have a first gen 12.9” 128GB Cell iPad Pro. It’s more than enough, and actually I could have skipped the cell on it. So keep that in mind for your device envy, I certainly don’t need a new one.

On another note. I’m very excited about the weather today. High of 42 degrees, my kind of weather.
